Working Principle Of Brake Shoes

The working principle of brake shoes is that the brake shoes are opened outwards through the action of the brake wheel cylinder or push rod, rubbing against the inner wall of the brake drum, thereby generating braking force to slow down or stop the vehicle. Brake shoes are usually installed on the brake drum and are shaped like a half moon. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the hydraulic pressure in the brake wheel cylinder will push the brake shoes outwards and rub against the inner wall of the brake drum, converting the vehicle's kinetic energy into heat energy through friction, thereby achieving a braking effect.
